To access this site click on the link to Lynchburg College to view or download tutorials and exercises.

This is a competing product to Microsoft Office.

Open Office is a fully integrated office solution which is FREE to use on any home or work computer. Instead of programs being saved in Word, Excel and Power Point they are opened in Writer, Calc and Impress. These programs allow users to save in Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point formats. You can save in a native XML OpenOffice format if you prefer or even to Adobe Acrobat PDF files..

Open Office has versions for Windows, Apple and Linux. All files are interchangeable. So if you create a WRITER file in Windows it is able to be emailed to an Apple user who can open it on their operating system.

The Microsoft Office user will find the product looks and feels quite familiar.

The download is very large (about 100mb) - something you would not try on dial-up. Open Office is often found on computer magazine covers in newsagents.
