Our Courses

The course lessons are held at East Maitland Bowling Club on Wednesday and Friday mornings.

Our courses cover:

• Windows XP

• Windows Vista

• Windows 7

• Word Processing

• Internet and Email

• Excel

• We are now also offering short courses in Digital Media.

The courses consist of four 1.5 hr lessons for each stage. 

XP Stage 1: Windows for absolute beginners (Essential basic skills and understanding)

• Prerequisite: Enthusiasm

XP Stage 2: Basic Skills (This will get you up and running)

• Prerequisite: Windows XP Stage 1 or experience with using Windows 98

Vista Stage 1: Absolute Beginners

• Prerequisite: A willingness to learn. 

Vista Stage 2: Basic Skills

• Prerequisite: This course is intended for people progressing from Vista Stage 1 AND people who have experience in Windows XP, as features unique to Windows Vista are introduced.

Word Processing Stage 1: (These skills are common to all word processors)

• Prerequisite: Skills of Novice Windows User - 98 or Windows XP Basics

Word Processing Stage 2: (Most people will be satisfied at this level)

• Prerequisite: Basic Word Processing skills (Don't try to start word processing at this level)

Digital Media (Music)

This course covers all aspects of digital music from managing digital music, ripping music to computer to  compiling and burning CDs. From there we move on to converting analogue music (such as tapes and vinyl LPs) to CDs.

Digital Media (Photos)

This course deals with managing digital photos, using the free program Picasa 3 to create a photo slide show with a music track.  There is also a session which deals with editing photos.
