History Of The Club
In March 2006, a public meeting was sponsored by ASCCA (Australian Seniors Computer Clubs Association) and the Maitland City Council, to gauge interest in a computer club for seniors in Maitland. About 60 locals attended the public meeting, which was opened by the Mayor, Clr Peter Blackmore. Peter King, an ASCCA director and member of both Computer Pals for Seniors - Newcastle, and Computer Pals for Seniors East Lake Macquarie invited participants to join a steering group to work towards the formation of a club. The Council Community Worker, Ageing and Disability supported the steering committee.
